Cookies and browser storage

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser; the browser sends it back with each request to that site. Browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) also keeps data on your device, but the browser does not send it anywhere by itself. This page covers both. How we handle personal data in general is in the privacy notice and the data protection policy.

UNSEEN’s own cookies

Our server code sets no cookies, and the site sets two strictly necessary cookies of its own, described below (language and blur thumbnails). The only other cookies on unseen.guide that come from a tool we chose are the two Google Analytics cookies described under “Analytics” below. We use no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking and no social media plugins. If we add another feature that sets a cookie, we will update this page and the privacy notice first.

Language (unseen_lang). When you pick a language in the language menu, on the entry notice or in a language bar, your browser stores a first-party cookie named unseen_lang that holds only that choice (for example zh-HK), for one year. Our server reads it so that it opens the edition you chose and never switches you to another one because of your browser’s language. It is strictly necessary for the language choice you asked for, so it needs no consent; it is not used for analytics or advertising and is not shared. Without it, our server only reads the language your browser already sends with each request (Accept-Language) to open a matching edition, and keeps nothing.

Blur thumbnails (unseen_blur). “Blur thumbnails” is off by default. You can also enable it with the blurred-entry button on the 18+ notice. When you switch it on or off with the eye button in the header, your browser stores a first-party cookie named unseen_blur that holds only 0 (off) or 1 (on), for one year, and keeps the same setting in localStorage (unseen:blur). Our server reads the cookie only to send pages that already match your setting, so a page never shows the opposite of your choice before it applies. It is strictly necessary for the setting you chose, so it needs no consent; it is not used for analytics or advertising and is not shared. Without it, pictures are shown without blur.

Cloudflare security cookies

Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks. To tell people from automated traffic, Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies on unseen.guide, such as __cf_bm (bot management; it expires after about 30 minutes) and cf_clearance (you passed a security check). They are set by Cloudflare, not by us, are not used to follow you across other sites, and are covered by Cloudflare’s own cookie policy.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google (Google Ireland Limited for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google LLC elsewhere), to see how the site is used: which pages are viewed and which kinds of links and features are used. It sets these first-party cookies on unseen.guide:

Consent. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland (and when we can’t tell where you are), these cookies are set and Google’s script is loaded only after you choose “Accept” in the banner. “Accept” and “Reject” are equal choices, and closing the banner counts as “Reject”; the site works the same either way. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can switch it off. “Cookie settings” in the footer reopens the banner at any time: switching analytics off stops collection at once and deletes both cookies. We keep your choice in your browser as unseen:consent (your choice, its date and the policy version) and ask again after 13 months or when this policy changes.

Google signals, advertising features, user-ID and data sharing with Google are off, and Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Event data is kept for 2 months. More in the privacy notice and the data protection policy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure loading speed in aggregate. It sets no cookies, keeps nothing in your browser and does not follow you across other sites.

What this site keeps on your device

The site uses browser storage so it works the way you set it: that you entered, your language, which filter sections are open, the models you saved, your recently viewed profiles and a few display settings for the current tab. This data is not sent to our server by itself. Only when you open the Saved page, or when the home and category lists are ordered for you, does the site send a small part of it to answer that request, and we do not keep it; the privacy notice explains exactly what is sent. Every key is listed in the technical note below.

If you turn on browser live alerts (“Notify me” on a model's page), or open UNSEEN from your Home Screen, the site installs a small service worker. It shows alerts and a plain offline page; it stores and caches nothing and sets no cookie. Your browser also keeps the push subscription it opened with its push service; the alert data we keep on our side is described in the privacy notice.

Cookies from the platforms we link to and embed

The platforms we link to and embed (today Stripchat, Chaturbate, BongaCams, Jerkmate, LiveJasmin, CamSoda and Swag) may set their own cookies:

• Thumbnails load straight from the platform’s image service, which may read or set its own cookies.
• The player on room pages and in live-list previews is the platform’s official player. Your browser connects to the platform directly, and the platform may set cookies inside the player, for example to remember settings or count views. Chaturbate’s player, for example, sets cookies such as fromaffiliate, in_hit, sbr, csrftoken, __cf_bm and cf_clearance (referral, settings and security), and can load Google reCAPTCHA inside the player. BongaCams rooms have no player on UNSEEN, so no BongaCams player is loaded here. LiveJasmin’s player is loaded by AWE’s official script (edwmcr.com, with the player from atwmcd.com) in a separate document on unseen-guide.pages.dev, where AWE may set its own cookies. CamSoda’s live stream is loaded in the same kind of separate document, from streaming-edge-front.livemediahost.com outside the UK and through CamSoda’s own player from promos.camsoda.com in the UK or when the stream cannot play; CamSoda may set its own cookies there. Swag has no live player on UNSEEN: list previews and room pages play a short recorded clip loaded straight from Swag’s file host, which may read or set its own cookies.
• When you follow a link to a platform, the platform may set cookies to record that you came from UNSEEN (affiliate attribution; see the affiliate disclosure) and for its own accounts, payments and security. Chaturbate, for example, may set a cookie such as affkey to record the referral. LiveJasmin, CamSoda and Swag room links pass through our own redirect first; the platform then handles accounts, payments and its own cookies.

We cannot read or control these cookies. They follow the platform’s own cookie and privacy policies, which are worth reading before you register or pay.

How to clear or block them

• Everything this site keeps: clear the site data for unseen.guide in your browser’s privacy settings. This removes your entry confirmation, language, saved models and recently viewed list; saved models cannot be restored afterwards.
• Tab settings clear on their own when you close the tab.
• Language cookie: pick another language to change it, or clear the site’s cookies to remove it; the site then follows your browser’s language again.
• Analytics cookies: use “Cookie settings” in the footer and choose “Reject”. This also deletes the Google Analytics cookies. You can also use Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on every site.
• Recently viewed: clear it, or turn it off, on the Saved page.
• Browser alerts: “Stop all and delete” on the Saved page ends the push subscription and deletes what we keep. Blocking notifications for unseen.guide, or clearing its site data, removes the service worker and the subscription from your browser.
• Platform cookies: block third-party cookies in your browser settings, or clear the platform’s cookies. Some previews or players may then not work; the room’s external link still does.
• Private browsing removes cookies and site data when you close the private window.
• If you block Cloudflare’s security cookies, Cloudflare may ask you to pass a check again or may block access.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page, with a new effective date, before we add anything that sets a cookie or keeps other data on your device.
